WahanaNews.co | Pengguna handphone (HP) android kini harus waspada dengan aplikasi yang mereka instal.
Baru-baru ini, tim peneliti keamanan siber, Zimperium zLabs, menemukan, program jahat (malware) bernama GriftHorse telah menginfeksi 10 juta pengguna di 70 negara dunia, termasuk Indonesia.

Menurut Zimperium zLabs, malware GriftHorse bisa menipu pengguna HP android dengan tanpa disadari berlangganan layanan pembayaran berulang dan mengambil uang dari kartu kredit hingga e-wallet.
Jika dibiarkan, itu bisa berpotensi mencuri menguras habis uang pengguna yang menjadi korbannya.
Selain itu, saat pengguna menginstal salah satu aplikasi berbahaya, malware GriftHorse akan memunculkan berbagai notifikasi dan pop-up untuk menggoda korban dengan diskon atau hadiah.

Pengguna yang tanpa sadar mengklik pop-up itu akan diarahkan ke halaman web untuk mengisi informasi nomor telepon pribadi mereka bila ingin mendapatkan hadiah.
Bila biasanya scam layanan premium memanfaatkan teknik phising, GriftHorse bersembunyi di balik aplikasi android dan bertindak sebagai trojan.
Malware GriftHorse diperkirakan telah aktif sejak November 2020.
Korban terpantau kebanyakan dari berbagai negara, mulai dari Australia, Brasil, China, India, Rusia, Arab Saudi, Spanyol, Inggris, Amerika Serikat, dan Indonesia.
Aksi malware ini menjadikannya salah satu penipuan terbesar yang diungkap pada 2021, dengan aplikasi yang terinfeksi sangat banyak dan beragam kategorinya.
Setidaknya, malware ini telah ditemukan di lebih dari 100 aplikasi android.
Aplikasi-aplikasi yang terinfeksi juga banyak yang muncul di Google Play Store, serta beberapa platform pihak ketiga.
Pihak Google sudah mengkonfirmasi bahwa aplikasi yang terinfeksi malware GriftHorse sudah hilang dari Google Play Store, tetapi platform pihak ketiga mungkin masih tersedia.
Demikian juga dengan aplikasi yang telanjur diinstal di perangkat pengguna, harus dihapus manual.
